To All Our Friends and Customers:
So much in our economy and the auto industry has transpired over the last months that we thought it might be well to bring you up to date on things here at Landmark. Our business is not as good as we would like it to be but thankfully not nearly as bad as the “news” might lead one to believe. It’s not all doom and gloom! The flip side of the coin is there’s a lot going on that make us feel very optimistic and thankful. As tight and difficult as things are in the auto business, the Ford Motor Company has not had to resort to government aid and help. Top management at Ford made decisions and commitments in the past two years that are now looking very good and allowing Ford to remain quite viable. Even though the short term may be a bit rocky, the intermediate and long term appear to be very bright. Difficult times bring out the best in good people and that certainly seems to be the case with Ford.
Three months ago the U.S. Global Quality Research System announced that Ford Motor Company’s “surging domestic quality is now equal to the best in the industry for the 2008 model year.” Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles are now statistically equivalent with Honda (including Acura) and Toyota (including Lexus and Scion) as being the best of major auto makers in the survey. We can say without reservation that we now have the best product mix that we’ve ever had. Starting with the Mercury Milan and all the way up to our all new and stunning Lincoln MKS. We now cover the entire field with sedans, crossovers and SUV’s. Our incredible combination of quality and product permits us to look to the future with great optimism.
The down turn in our economy and the auto industry has created some great opportunities and as the saying goes, “for every door that closes a new one opens.” By combining our dealer discounts and the Ford, Lincoln - Mercury incentives, pricing is now better than it’s ever been. Even so recently as three months ago we never would have believed we would see pricing that we now offer on both 2008 and 2009 models. We also have a great selection of used cars as this down turn has affected these prices as well.
Financing is readily available and in some instances even at 0%. Even though you may not have given thought to a new car, you may want to reconsider and take advantage of this depressed market. We are sure that there are those of you who in a year or two may be saying that we should have taken advantage of the 2009 buyer’s market. Opportunities such as this rarely come along. Complementing our great pricing is the sales tax credit that is part of the recently passed stimulus package. In its attempt to help the economy the government has made sales tax on most new car purchases deductible from gross income, thus lowering your tax liability. At the risk of being repetitive let us say again, “There’s never been a better time to buy than now.”
In closing, thank you for being our customers and friends and for hearing us out in this memo. Please give us a call or better yet, stop in to say hello and see first hand the incredible opportunities that we have available.
